What a packed day — after which everyone’s muscles definitely hurt!

Our very first スポーツ大会(スポーツ たいかい), CLAY Sports Day, was a huge success!

At our school, we have 4 classes — two for second-year students and two for first-year students — so 4 teams took part in CLAY Sports Day. But today didn’t start with fun and games; it started with First Aid Training - life-saving training.

Each class had a 45-minute masterclass where they could practice on a mannequin how to save a person’s life. We had a lecture from professionals — but they carefully chose words so both second-year and first-year students could understand everything — and, of course, there was a physical demonstration. We learned the correct order of actions and practiced indirect heart massage, artificial respiration, and how to use an AED.

After the learning part, it was finally time for sports!

Today’s games included three exciting activities:

  • 二人三脚 (two-person three-legged race) — Two people tie one of their legs together so that one leg remains free while the other is bound to their partner. Then they run together — literally two people, three legs!

    (1 位:2B 2 位:2A 3 位:1A 2 位:1B)

  • 借り物競走 (scavenger race) — Here it’s more complicated: you run with your teammates holding hands, pick a random card, and find the person or item described in the hall — all instructions in Japanese!

  • リレー (relay race) — This one’s simple: run in a circle and pass the baton to the next teammate.

The day turned out to be very intense and definitely strengthened the bond between the classes. This time, the winners were the second-year class 2B!

But everyone could win prizes for participation. Students showing special activity and effort were also recognized.

Congratulations to the winners, and a big thank you to all participants for your energy, dedication, and friendship!
